Position Summary

 

We are seeking a Title Examiner to join our American Home Title team. Incumbent responsible for review and examination of title searches, ordering title search products or performing search of public records, inputting required contract data into title production software; oversees production of the title commitment package, including review and execution of same; monitors file closings and oversees production of final policy and package, including review and execution of same and delivery to appropriate parties.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build title subdivision backgrounds for each RAH project, create electronic list of all proper exceptions to title and input same into software production software.
  • Perform and review title searches, examine title searches (upon proper state licensing and including subdivision background development), and review of title commitments and policies.
  • Responsible for putting together the title commitment package, review and execution of such commitments and mailing the documents to the appropriate parties, monitor when each file closes, request an update of the title exam, type up the final policy and mail the final package to the appropriate parties.
  • Responsible for input of all contract data required into the title production software, preparation of file folders and initial file documents as are necessary.
  • Responsible for the production of any requested endorsements and delivery of same to the proper parties.
  • Performs clerical responsibilities, including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages and filing, and such other duties required to establish, maintain and build a title insurance agency.
  • Working remotely on occasion is possible, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.

 

Requirements

 

College degree preferred (but not required) and equivalent work experience - appropriate experience that provides the basis of knowledge to perform the job functions. Proper title insurance underwriting licensure in states of operation is highly recommended focus will be the state of  Florida for this role. 

Experience: Minimum of two years experience in the field of title insurance examination. The candidate must have experience and success in performing the “essential job functions” as outlined above.

Skill in: Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. In addition, he/she must be able to work alone with little or no supervision and have a strong understanding and ability to work within the different courthouse recording practices and underwriter guidelines.

Compensation

 

  • Base Salary: $50,000 - $60,000
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Discretionary
