Position Summary

We are searching for a qualified Junior Purchasing Agent for our Merchandising Department. This position will be responsible for the purchasing, procuring, expediting, and billing of all items for model homes and sales offices and well as coordinating all the merchandising departments logistical needs related to purchasing, installation and punch list for model homes. You will oversee vendor communication in relation to order status and invoicing/tracking of payments. You will also assist Purchasing Agent(s) with various tasks associated with purchasing and accounting functions for the merchandising department.

Responsibilities

• Track order status on all assigned vendors and communicate any concerns to purchasing agents/design
• Receive and review invoices on all assigned vendors, preparing/submitting invoices for approval and payment
• Review vendor statements and address any outstanding issues
• Ordering and expediting interior furnishings for model homes and sales offices
• Partnering with design on backorders and reselects
• Expediting project prior to install and identifying any concerns
• Scheduling and coordinating drapery and wallpaper installations
• Coordinating model installs, scheduling movers, creatively problem solve unforeseen but urgent issues, assist in communication with warehouse/moving company during installation
• Supporting purchasing team in additional administrative needs (supply orders, filing, creating binders, etc.)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
• Minimum four years Purchasing experience preferred
• Must be an organized, self-starter and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
• Must be extremely proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
• Prior experience utilizing JP Edwards EnterpriseOne is preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance

Compensation

• Base Salary: $50,000-$65,000
• FLSA Status: Exempt
• Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
